Shaina: I’m Shaina, I love dogs, I trip a lot and I happened to have a knack for making bad sleep videos for businesses, but the more videos we made, the more questions I got about how video and other content can be leveraged to make a bigger impact in their marketing. I mean 44 percent of marketers say that producing content is their biggest challenge. Get content marketing is 62 percent less expensive than outbound and produces three times more leads. Now I know a lot, but I certainly don’t know at all, so I made it my mission to talk with content, kings, Queens, and bosses to learn as much as I could about crushing content marketing and I’m taking you along with me. Welcome to the content coalition.
Shaina: Hey guys, welcome to the content coalition. I’m Shaina Weisinger. I just wanted to give you a short little episode, explained to you kind of why I started this video podcast and give you some background on me who I am and the types of people that I want to make sure we’re interviewing this season to make sure we get tons of value for the amazing content creators out there. So first of all, I’m Shaina. I’ve been doing video production forever and ever. Amen. Specifically for strategic marketing for about six years now and one of the things that I kept hearing was a massive pain point was a they needed help and their digital strategy would be like taking existing content and repurposing it into all different types of content. It’s something that I consistently try to tell my clients like you have to a have value based content and to be giving, but you also need to be taking all this content you’re spending time and money creating and turning it into pieces that actually resonate on like social media.
Shaina: Like when you go to post something on YouTube that’s like long form and a how to video. That doesn’t really resonate with the Facebook crowd, so helping them create a strategy that actually implements taking the content that they worked on and turning it into pieces that work across all the platforms. So having done that, I was also telling them, like, you need to be doing video podcasts just like this, and the reason for that is because generally speaking, it’s all give content. And so I had a lot of clients who were doing video podcasts and they were able to give as much value as they could possibly fathom by interviewing people who are like leaders in their industry and being able to offer that information as a part of their give on their platform from their business or their brand. I’m consistently to their audience, which I thought was great, but again, same issue, repurposing
Shaina: was a problem. So I decided to start Repurpose House and that’s literally all that we do. We just take video blog, podcast content and we turn it into social, sharable, amazing type like biteable pieces that have all the things that they should have. You know, the big, bold text, the captions, all of that fun stuff, but one of the things that I got really passionate about was being able to teach people best practices of that. So I want people to know, you know, if I go to post something on Facebook, on the feed, why is that different and why does it need to look different than if I posted it on YouTube or if I go to post something on YouTube, why is that different than what it needs to look like on my website? And I think that educating people and teaching them best practices, not only in repurposing their content but in content strategy in general, um, is, is a really exciting thing for me now.
Shaina: It’s really cool because I get the opportunity to teach through speaking or writing for brands like Digital Marketer business to community Podfest Expo and tons more. We have so many lined up for this year. It’s pretty cool. We’re literally giving away the farm on how to do all this stuff because I think that knowledge is power. Um, and you know, we’re obviously a resource for if you don’t have the time to do it, um, and you know, we just know what we’re doing and how to do it, but we’re happy to teach you along the way. So I’m, I’m really excited about The Content Coalition. It’s my baby. We’ve interviewed some incredible people. We’ve got, you know, Dennis Yu is episode one, so you’re going to dive right into that one next. We’ve got folks from Godaddy, Hubspot, we’ve got like people who have crushed the content marketing game in ways that like blew my mind.
Shaina: So I’m just really excited to a learn for myself because now we’re going to implement a strategy, but then to also share so that you get a chance to learn all the cool things that I got to learn and hopefully be able to implement them in your strategy and, you know, come on the show later and tell me how you just crushed your content marketing strategy.
