We’ve come across LOTS of really weird things that you should know when posting your repurposed social media assets – and how to maintain your social in general.
In this webinar we cover things like:
1. Posting Platform APIs and Limitations
LinkedIn is a huge one here! If you use a scheduling tool like Agorapulse, Hootsuite, etc. there are the limitations you need to know. For example, if you schedule a post through one of these platforms to LinkedIn, the API will distort the content and cut it off unless it’s in landscape size.
2. Posting On IGTV to Feeds
Have you ever posted on IGTV and allowed it to preview in your feed? If so, you may have noticed that the preview on your feeds looks a little funky – like the design or video is super cut off.
A great way to get around that is to optimize your IGTV content so that it also fits for feed preview – square! We break down how to do this in the webinar.
3. Choosing A Thumbnail on Instagram
Don’t let Instagram have control over your thumbnail previews! It doesn’t always choose the most appealing image.
When you’re loading your video into Instagram, before you publish it there’s an option to choose a “cover” which serves as the thumbnail – what people see on your feed.
4. Twitter Image Sizes
This is just for images on Twitter, not video.
We’ve all learned that SQUARE size performs best on feeds. But Twitter clearly wanted to be the exception when it comes to posting images. Landscape is best here or else your content gets cut off.
4. Going Live on Facebook & Sending the Link?
This is a hack Shaina has personally practiced and covers in the webinar. It’ll help take your Facebook Live sessions to another level – and you’ll actually be able to use them more.
6. Uploading to YouTube and Linking to Your Website
Don’t miss out on this strategy, it’s a great way to drive more traffic.
